The ACDelco Dex-Cool was the original fluid that comes in your 6.6L Duramax Diesel, it has been specially formulated for long service intervals, we recommend to service the coolant system every 5 years or 100,000 miles. The ACDelco Dex-Cool provides effective anti corrosion support by protecting brass, cast iron, steel, solder, and copper components. Also provides superior high temp protection for aluminum components. Non-Silicate formula retains excellent heat transfer characteristics for improved water pump life. This coolant comes pre mixed so you don't have to add any distilled water.

If you use the wrong coolant it does not have the lubrication within the system and will cause premature wear, electrolysis resulting in breakdown of metals within the motor and also if you mix green and orange coolant it will gel and lead to catastrophic failure.
